A Prayer for All in the Pathway of Hurricane Melissa:
Merciful Creator, we lift up the residents of Jamaica and the Caribbean who are enduring the horrific landfall of Hurricane Melissa, a catastrophic storm threatening all they hold dear. We pray that, according to your promise in Psalm 5:11, you will spread your protection over them in this moment of profound terror and vulnerability—serving as a shield against the devastating 181-185 mph winds, life-threatening storm surge, and catastrophic flooding.
For those who take refuge in you, may they find solace and strength, and may all who love your name exult in the hope of your favor, trusting that you are with them amid the chaos and uncertainty. God, according to your sovereign will, bless all those in harm's way. Cover them with your divine favor as with an impenetrable shield, safeguarding lives and in the circumstances of destruction, through rescue and relief provide both comfort and hope.

Email Fraud Alert
There has been an uptick in fraudulent emails that appear as though they have come from clergy, staff, or leaders in this region. Please be vigilant; churches are particularly vulnerable to phishing emails requesting gift cards, asking that money be sent to the account of a “sick relative,” and other similar tactics that attempt to take advantage of compassion. For information on how to recognize and protect yourself from phishing scams, visit the FTC’s guide.
